Essay Requirements: All essays are to be presented in MLA style and should be double-spaced. Font must be size 12 Times New Roman. Length should be two to three typed pages (500-700 words). Students should not provide title pages or enclose papers in any type of folder. When sources are used/required, appropriate documentation should be included.
Tests, Make-up Work, and Attendance: Late essays
will be accepted up to one week after the due date, with a letter grade
deduction for late work. Students who miss an exam should discuss a make-up
possibility with the instructor. There will be no make-ups for missed
quizzes.
Students are expected to attend class and be on time.
Attendance Policy
Class attendance is mandatory, and monitoring of class attendance is continuous. You will earn a grade based on your attendance in class. This grade will constitute 10% of your total grade. One tardy will constitute half an absence. Likewise, one early departure will constitute half an absence.
The schedule is as follows:
0 absences = a grade of 100
1 absence = a grade of 95
2 absences = a grade of 90
3 absences = a grade of 85
4 absences = a grade of 75
5 absences = a grade of 65
6 absences = a grade of 50
7 absences=a grade of 0

Student Conduct: Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in a failing grade. All cell phones and electronic pagers are to be turned off during class time. No sleeping (or heads on desks) will be permitted during class time. Students are expected to use the restroom during breaks between classes, not during class time.

Retrieval of Grades Policy: Grades are not mailed to students. They must be accessed through Self-Service BANNER.
